its january but my calendar says its time to think about summer

Long gone are the lazy days of Summer, sipping lemonade, floating the river, and running around the neighborhood until dusk. It is only January 30th yet I have sent out numerous cover letters, applications, resumes, media kits, and recommendation letters to various employees for Summer Internships. Summer Internships are competitive to say the least and landing the PERFECT internship can help excel your career after college.

At a recent networking event put on by my school's chapter of PRSSA we networked and worked the room for over two hours in a speed dating-esque style. I walked out the door with numerous emails, phone numbers, and business cards and "people to talk to."

As I have gotten older I have began to realize that connections and networking can help you in life, there is no hindering from a great elevator speech. One person always knows someone who knows someone who knows the person who can get you the job!

Know I can remember countless television shows that display interns; PR Girls on MTV in the early 2000's, and Running Russell Simmons which aired just this Fall on Oxygen. Running Russell Simmons' interns were honestly in my opinion ditsy, who in their right mind goes shopping when you are supposed to be working, or doesn't wear underwear so T.I. can see your vaj jay...? Come on now ladies you both graduated Fashion School and should know better.... lets hope.

Interns across America are sending in their life away and waiting for that one email or phone call that can determine the rest of their future.

Lets hope I get a one of those phone calls!

Who's your Idol?

American Idol, Season 10, starts tonight with two new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. These two are sure going to add a different punch and pucker to the show which in my opinion should have been off of FOX's lineup by 2006. The show which in the first weeks showcases great, bad, ugly, and terrible singers try outs around the country, brings humanness as well of a wide range of reactions to the 25- 30 million viewers per week.

FOX hopes that Tyler as well as Lopez brings in a more diverse grouping of viewers as in the past nine seasons there has been quite a fall in viewership for AI. Tyler and Lopez who have both been in the entertainment and music industries for decades hope to personally bring viewers and a different aspect to the show. Compared to past judges such as Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, Lopez hopes to get her point across but in her own way, "I think there are definitely better ways to get your point across [than being cruel]," she said at last year's announcement. "I've mentored on the show before, so I think people have seen that and kinda can feel how I'll be — or maybe they'll be surprised," (MTV.com)
Last month, Lopez used three words to describe her judging style as touch easy and fair.

Tune in Tuesday/Wednesday..... sometimes every single day on FOX
